The Sleeping Beauty?

Hey all! i rewrote sleeping beauty for my english essay! tell me what you think!

The Sleeping Beauty?

There once was a plump and homely peasant couple that had always wanted a precious son to call their own. However, being poor and

malnourished, they had spent all their stress-filled lives working hard on their small pumpkin patch to provide sustenance. From the

moment they were married in holy matrimony, they had tried to bring a little bundle of joy in their lives whenever they had a chance. But

alas, to no avail, no such bundle had chance to come into their lives as they had wished.

One morning, the poor woman went on her daily routine of watering the pumpkin patch at sunrise. Usually, she watered one end of the

patch and worked toward the opposite end. This particular morning however, she felt that a change was in order. As she slowly moved to

the center of the patch to begin watering her eyes caught a glimpse of gold rush behind a pumpkin not too far from the centermost pumpkin

in the patch. To her surprise, a golden pumpkin eating Chihuahua had wandered onto the property. As she aimed her hoe to exterminate the

vile vermin, the Chihuahua yelped in defense and offered a small offering for its life and said, “Soon you will be blessed with a

beautiful bouncing baby boy come the next full moon!”

The wife, at that moment, forgot all about the Chihuahua and rushed inside to tell her husband the glorious news that had been revealed to

her through the Chihuahua. The husband could hardly believe his ears as he heard his wife retell the tale. In his mind, he had thought

that once he had a son, his pumpkin patch business would take off and he wouldn’t have to work as hard anymore when his business had

become “Father & Son.”

Just as the Chihuahua had foretold, the wife gave birth to a baby boy during the next full moon. It had turned out that the wife was

so plump, no one in the town, not even herself, could tell that she was pregnant. The wife had birthed a son so handsome, the silvery

moon could not do itself justice in his presence. For his eyes and hair shimmered in a deep lustrous silver in which nothing could hope

to compare.

To celebrate, the father held a feast of pumpkin pie in celebration of the birth of his first son. Since the town was small and only had

fourteen homes including the wife and husband, he was able to invite almost everybody except one, the strongest sorceress in town. For

the wife had only enough ripe pumpkins to make thirteen pies, rather than insult the sorceress by inviting her to a party with no food for

her, she decided that it was better to not invite her. The feast went on swimmingly for all the families had without a doubt fallen in

love with the young boy and presented him with many gifts that would bring envy to all who saw them.

However just at that moment, the sorceress had awoken from her afternoon nap and decided to go for a walk. As she slowly meandered

through the town, she noticed that there was no one around as usual. This felt strangely unnerving as she continued down the path to find

a sweet scent permeating throughout the air. She then decided to follow this aromatic sensation straight to the couple’s home. To her

shock and disbelief, the whole town had joined together for a feast and promptly left her out of the celebration. As she glared toward

the couple, she saw the reason for the feast: a bouncing baby boy. But that was to of no importance as her eyes feasted upon the

delicious pumpkin pie of which was her preferred and most favorite food in which she had hoped to consume whenever the chance came upon

her to do so. Upon seeing the pumpkin pie, she had become instantly enraged with the couple. For they had clearly left her uninvited,

when she, was clearly known for her love of pumpkin pie.

At that moment, the sorceress rushed through the gates of the dilapidated pumpkin farm and cursed at the couple for what they had

heartlessly and coldly done to her. The couple got onto their knees and apologized profusely, but to no avail. For the sorceress had

gone into such a rage, not even her most favorite food in the world could calm her tempestuous anger. She them proceeded to curse the son

with the worst thing she could think of at the moment.

“Just as you have deprived me of my favorite food, I will place a curse upon your son that is just as wicked. For hear me, when he

reaches an age in which he is the most handsome in all the lands, eating a slice of delicious pumpkin pie will make him drop down dead!”

said the sorceress in such a tone that no one present at the feast could speak to interrupt her.

And with that, the sorceress disappeared in a clap of lighting and was never seen again by those who lived in the village. The

second most powerful sorcerer who was already present at the feast could only lesson the curse so that the boy would instead fall asleep

rather than dropping down dead on the spot. In desperation, the father had pleaded with everyone to destroy any pumpkin plant they could

find. They had all willingly agreed for that they had without a doubt, fallen for the silvery, shimmering, boy-child. From that day on,

neither pumpkin plant nor seed could be found anywhere in the small town. The couple had then felt that they had fouled up the

sorceress’s plan to hurt their child.

After fifteen years had passed, the son, who had been named Takahiro, had indeed become the most handsome man in all the lands.

Women and men of all ages swooned as he walked by and flashed his innocent, shy, smile and blushed slightly. After so many years, the

town had promptly forgotten all about the curse placed upon the beauty that was Takahiro.

By this time, the parents had set up a small melon patch whose melons were as delicious as Takahiro was handsome and beautiful, instead of

the accursed pumpkin patch of ages before. Takahiro’s parents had left for a few years to attend and lecture at a melon symposium in the

neighboring kingdom across their sea and left Takahiro to fend for himself while they were away.

One day as Takahiro walked home after taking a few melons to the now most powerful sorceress as he had done for as long as he could

remember, he encountered a frail old woman with a cake cart parked at the gate of his home. Young Takahiro greeted the old woman as his

eyes chanced upon a peculiar orange pie that seemed to make up most of the woman’s wares.

“What sort of strange pies are those? I have never chanced upon such a thing in the fifteen years that I have walked upon this

earth!” he said brimming with curiosity.

“These are pumpkin pies,” said the old woman as she began to cut a slice for the young man to taste.

“I have never heard of such a fruit before in my life. But the aroma is so intoxicating…I can’t thank you more than enough for this

slice. I will savor every morsel kind woman,” said Takahiro as he took the first bite that would be his last. Or so the sorceress had

thought.

He then fell down stricken with a deep sleep that had never been seen before in all the lands. As the sorceress watched the young

boy sleep, she suddenly felt a deep love for him as the others in the village had also experienced. However, she did not have the power

to reverse her spells, so instead she moved him magically to a soft bed of melon leaves in the center of the patch and henceforth left to

repent upon her sins of hatred that has caused such a beautifully innocent boy to suffer so.

Soon after, the princess from the neighboring country was venturing through the small town to return home. As she walked by the melon

patch in which she was disgusted with. She had thought that melons were the vilest fruit ever created in all the lands and oceans.

However as she passed the melon patch, a peculiar smell wafted from the center of the patch. The smell of delicious pumpkin pie filled

her nose; she had not had the pleasure of tasting it for many years and decided to ask for some. But to her surprise, she encountered a

young boy who was so beautiful she could hardly believe her eyes. The pie was no longer of no importance as she carried him inside and

placed him on the bed, for in her eyes, the boy was tastier than any pie she could hope to find. After the deed was done and she was

satisfied, the princess left and returned home.

It had turned out that the princess had become pregnant and had two children of which she was extremely displeased in. For that in

all her escapades she had never once became pregnant until she found the lovely and rapturous Takahiro asleep in the melon patch. So she

then ventured forth to the small cottage where he lived. To her surprise she found Takahiro in the same state of undress that she left

him exactly 9 months prior. Without hesitation she dumped the children onto the bed with him and promptly left. As she ventured home

with a grin full of self-delight, she felt no remorse for what she had done and went on to look for fresh pickings a few towns over.

As promptly as she left, Takahiro had awakened from his yearlong slumber as the children placed their fingers down Takahiro’s throat

causing him to throw up the pumpkin pie that had caused his deep sleep. To his surprise he had found two silver haired children with deep

blue eyes of sapphire. His parents never did return home from the symposium after many years. However the princess did often visit in

secret and relished joyfully how she had ruined his life in revenge of the stretch marks she received after giving birth to those two

eerie silver haired children. Takahiro had always wondered, even on his deathbed, what had happened to his parents and how he came to

have two silver haired boys. He worked hard for the next fifteen years trying to support his two children and died from a mysterious

illness, while the princess, in her self satisfying manner, continued upon the land bringing forth children only to throw them away as one

throws away a napkin.

The end.

“You like Koyama-san, don’t you?” Rina gave a small sigh. “I guess it can’t be helped…these feelings of love…”

“Hm?” Shige was quite unclear what the girl meant. “But yeah…I do…”

“So it doesn’t matter if you’re homosexual or heterosexual?” Rina gave Shige a small smile. “Love is something shared by any sexual orientation?”

“Well, in the end the love shared by homosexuals and heterosexuals is all the same…it isn’t any different from one another…” Shige gave in his own input.

“I guess you’re right…” Rina smiled. “In the end, love is same and we should just learn to accept.”

Shige smiled back with a nod. “You’re very pretty when you smile…you should smile more often.”

"Since October 2001, the super-secret National Security Agency has eavesdropped on the international phone calls and e-mails of people inside the United States without court-approved warrants. Bush said steps like these would help fight terrorists like those who involved in the Sept. 11 plot."

Taken from Yahoo!DSL news
